Linda is a landscape artist living in northwest Arkansas. She is a wife, grandma, and nature lover, always on the hunt for a perfect ray of light to capture on her canvas. She paints from home in her studio that she named, “Invite the Light.”
She began painting in 2017 after retiring from a career in banking and accounting, and now says, “I’m so happy to finally be using the other side of my brain!” Linda has discovered that not only has painting become a joyful thing to do in her retirement years, “It has become my passionate pursuit of a dream God gave me five years before I ever started painting! He showed me how he wanted to use my art to lift people up out of pain & discouragement.”
Even though she didn’t know what that meant, or how it would happen, she said yes to the dream and just kept painting. Early on, people began reacting to her paintings with statements like, “I feel so peaceful when I look at this!” “It makes me feel like Jesus is standing here holding my hand.” “I feel like somebody sees me and I’m going to be OK.”
Three years later, Linda continues to focus on creating commissioned paintings and building her artistic skills. “Invite the Light” has become not only her studio name, but her artist’s mission statement and her spoken prayer over every painting.
